Trip to WangFu

We decided to take our first bike trip of the season (like a month and half ago.. i am just slow on posting stuff) to Juliets house.... which is like a 40minute bus ride away, not quite as far as chagan lake. We had so many crazy weather problems with this trip.. we almost didn't go, it rained in the morning and then got beautiful.... then started to rain a little bit again as we headed out.. .but we decided to go ahead and it cleared up to a beautiful day.

When we got to her town we went to a shop to buy some food for her mom. Juliet went in and we stayed outside with the bikes and our stuff.... we ended up with a huge crowd of people around us debating if we were russian. Me and chris quickly corrected them and then started talking to them... which really shocked them... and we even got some pictures with them. Juliet came out and put her giant bag of food in my basket... no problem.... until the bag started to flop!.... she totally had a live fish in that damn thing. Then we picked up a chick from a street vendor... head, feet and all.... no place to put this one... so chris just puts the bag on his arms and we head off....with some chicken feet hitting him every time he peddles.

Juliet's house was your pretty standard country side house. Random people kept coming over to see us. While we were eating dinner this big group of middle school girls kept walking buy and looking at us from the window... so Juliet's neighbor invited them in. They didn't say much at first but just stood around the room watching us eat... a little awkward. But we eventually got them talking and took some pictures with them........ and signed a hat and a shirt.

When it started getting dark... many of the girls went home.. but two of them stuck around and played poker with us (as you can see from the last few post... learning to play chinese poker is amazing for social interactions with people....EVERYONE knows how to play and usually likes to) Me and one of the girls vs Juliet and another one of the girls.... Chris watched. Me and the middle school girl won a lot.... but she was REALLY good.

We set out pretty early in Juliets father's 3 wheeled truck.. hehe .. these are funny little cars.. in Thailand they are called tuk tuks because of the sound they make.... its basically a big lawn mower engine with a truck on top. He took us out to the market in their town and then out to what he thought was a park. Totally wasn't a smart idea going in.... but it was very pretty and interesting.... until we found out it totally wasn't a park and was really a water treatment plant.. .. and security got a little mad at us and kicked us out.

The ride home was EXTREMELY windy, and tough. It drizzled on us occasionally. Only once did it start raining REALLY hard and we just had to stop and huddle under umbrellas on the side of the road.... waited about five minutes and it was beautiful and sunny again.

Next post will have a lot of pictures from the trip!
